This URL is a very long one and should be entered without any breaks.

Home Children – Canada

October 13, 2011

Library and Archives Canada has free searchable passenger list records (1869 – 1930) of “Home Children”. Three BIDGOOD entries were noted. See: http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/home-children/index-e.html

Home Children were orphan and other children who came from Dr Barnado and other agencies in the UK to Canada for domestic and farm employment.

Bedgood/Bidgood DNA Test Result

August 5, 2011

My test results show a Haplogroup – R1b1a2.

Previous non BEDGOOD work shows this is a common Haplogroup for Devon Trees, and may be traced back to an Anglo-Saxon origin. This gives support to the suggestions of the late Doris SMALLHORN.
