The date range covered extends from the Sydney Gazette of 1803 up to newspapers published within the last week or so. The Index also includes many funeral notices, and some probate notices and obituaries.

http://forebears.co.uk/ is an intriguing mix of links to data sources, distribution maps and meanings of a surname. It appears to be under development: a search on BIDGOOD shows what the impressive end product might look like, while the rest of our B__GOOD names were very incomplete. Well worth checking out especially if you have ancestors in the U.K. and Ireland. Results for other countries were very variable but hopefully will improve with time.
